There are many things that make our skin age, some are inevitable, others we can influence, but we cannot change the natural aging process.
It is natural for our face to lose some of its fullness and over time we will all have visible lines on our face.
In general, the contour of your face changes as the fat pads in your face age forward and down, creating shadows and creases. Your neck will also show signs of ageing and usually deep lines that look like necklaces appear, getting deeper every year.

Skin aging is not only caused by genetics, but also by our environment and lifestyle choices.
- The sun plays an important role in premature aging of our skin, so it is essential that you apply sunscreen to all parts of your skin that are not covered by clothing, using a sun cream, at least SPF 30, or even higher.
- Instead of lying in the sun to tan, apply a self-tanner or use a spray tan. Sunbathers and tanning beds emit harmful UV rays that can cause premature aging of the skin.
- Smoking causes wrinkles and dull skin and will accelerate the rate at which our skin ages.
- Repetitive facial expressions contract the underlying muscles causing lines and wrinkles, and repeated contraction of the same muscles over many years will cause these lines to become permanent.
- A healthy and balanced diet, with fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meat can help slow the damage that leads to premature skin aging. Visible aging can be accelerated when a diet includes a lot of sugar or other refined carbohydrates.
- Alcohol dehydrates the skin, which will damage it over time and end up making us look older.
- Gently cleanse your skin, as scrubbing can irritate and this can accelerate skin aging, and always apply a facial moisturizer.
But looking younger is more than just applying topical creams and serums that will only work on the epidermis, and cant penetrate deeper, due to its particle sizes and composition.
To reverse skin aging you need to combine lifestyle, nutrition, upper skin layer treatments and protection as well as cosmetic treatments that go into deeper layers of the skin.

Renowned clinics offer the latest safe and effective cosmetic treatments to help slow the effects of skin aging and in some case, reverse it. But clinics can be expensive of course!
The price of in-clinic treatments could be the reason that the last few years have seen a new DIY movement taking hold, where people teach themselves how to carry out such treatments on themselves at home.
Hands up, I am one such DIYer. As a biohacker, it is an obvious move to learn how to inject my face with vitamins and biostimulators that work at the cellular level. This is called mesotherapy and yes, some training as well as sterile and safe products are a must!
Here are the treatments that can make you truly look much younger:
1) Botox
Wrinkles are the most noticeable signs of skin aging and appear in different areas of the face. Very fine lines are the first to appear, noticeable at the outer corners of the eyes and known as laugh lines. They can also be found on the cheeks and forehead and get deeper as we get older.

Botox injections can transform the face by relaxing the muscles, smoothing the face and making it look fresh and supple.
Botox can be used in differ the face and neck to give a temporary anti-aging benefit.
2) Fat dissolving treatment
A series of injections placed within a grid using products like KYBELLA®. An amazing treatment for double chins and to remove aging fat pads prior to filling the area.
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
It usually takes 2 to 3 treatments spaced at least 6 weeks apart to achieve optimum results.

3) Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers offer a non-invasive, non-surgical way to create a youthful appearance by lifting and plumping your cheeks, lips, and jawline. They effectively reduce wrinkles and folds, the most common signs of aging, and can make you look younger.
So what are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a bulking agent successfully used to recreate volume. Loss of volume in the face is one of the key culprits of aging. As we grow older, our facial muscles and connecting tissue begin to sag, often resulting in sunken cheeks and temples.
Hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body, is synthetically produced as a pure product and used as a filling agent for various parts of the face.

The lips – Lip enhancement will give your lips better definition and reduce lipstick bleeding. Lip augmentation will give more volume and a fuller look.
Treatment with tear – gives a natural full look under the lower lids, correcting the appearance of hollow eyes.
Lip wrinkles – Fillers can soften the depth of smoker’s lines around the lips, giving the mouth area a more youthful appearance.
Nasolabial folds – correction or smoothing of the deep furrows between the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth, gives spectacular results.
Cheek enhancement – High cheekbones can be easily achieved through precise placement of fillers.
Double chin correction – Precise placement of fillers can give you the result of a smooth jawline. Note: This is usually performed after fat dissolver treatment.
4) Other effective Skin treatments
Mesotherapy, Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling and skin tightening treatments will help with exfoliation, clearer skin, smoother skin texture, reducing scarring and encouraging new skin growth and collagen.
The exfoliation process helps maintain a brighter, more even complexion, helping to make skin look much younger and healthier.
