Medical technology firm NeuX Technologies Inc., which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, is on the move!
The company, formerly based in West Palm Beach with a presence in Tampa’s Research Park, was accepted into the Embarc Collective in June and moved its corporate office to the Embarc Center in August.
“We were very impressed with Embarc Collective’s trainers who cover everything from accounting to procurement,” said NeuX President and CEO Scott Minniear. “We intend to bring our entire corporation here and are open to partnering with anyone who can use our technology.”
Minniear has more than 40 years in the healthcare field and also founded MetaCon Inc., which consolidated the procurement and procurement process for hundreds of hospitals across the country.
NeuX is known for its Interactive Neuromuscular Stimulation (INS) technology, a non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive and non-addictive means of treating chronic pain and injury.
Minniear is personally familiar with chronic nerve pain from neck, back and knee problems. After taking pain pills for decades, he switched to NeuX technology which has significantly improved his quality of life over the past few years.

Minniear describes the technology as fitting into the category of biohacking, known as human augmentation or enhancement, as it can improve someone’s overall performance and recovery with nerve and muscle stimulation. He believes it can help regenerate damaged nerve pathways.
Athletes, such as those who have torn an ACL that did not heal properly, and people who have suffered strokes, paralysis and other debilitating illnesses, are using the technology.
“We’re excited to have the NeuX team join Embarc Collective’s high-growth startup community and believe their impact on the health and wellness landscape will be huge,” said Lakshmi Shenoy, CEO of Embarc Collective, in a written statement.
Minniear said he hopes the Embarc Collective space can accommodate about 30 team members and is actively looking for nearby lab space for testing.
NeuX is no stranger to the Tampa market. In 2018, the company joined the Tampa Bay Technology Incubator, which is part of the University of South Florida’s Connect program. The company also attended the Synapse Summit held at Amalie Arena in the same year.
The company’s current clients include the University of Miami, Texas Tech University and health/recovery centers, according to its website. He’s also working with an NFL quarterback who uses the technology.
The startup will raise another seed round before a Series A round.
NeuX has also made key new hires, including Meaghan Foley as Director of Performance Psychology and Systems Development; Tim Brown, a professional athlete and expert in performance and therapeutic technologies, as Chief Innovation Officer; and Dr. John Pecora, sports medicine specialist, as Vice President of Business Development.
Earlier this month, NeuX announced a collaboration with Dr. Katherine Melot, creator of the Defeat Diastasis program. Diastasis is a condition that mainly affects women in the first year after giving birth.
Dr. Melot has developed protocols using NeuX’s Interactive Neuromuscular Stimulation technology to treat diastasis, without surgical intervention.
